Management Team

Our Management Team plays a key role in the running of Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL). They are responsible for providing leadership, setting strategy, reviewing management performance, ensuring we have the financial and human resources needed to achieve our objectives and ensuring that the company meets its obligations to stakeholders and shareholders.

 


Noormah Mohd Noor joined Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) in October 1997 as General Manager of Finance, and was instrumental in the development of the air-rail link between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and KL Sentral Station. Noormah played a key role in restructuring the financing package to put the ERL project back on track following the Asian Financial Crisis in 1998. She was appointed ERL’s Chief Executive in June 2009. She is also a Director of ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd.

Under her leadership, ERL charted a double digit growth for 5 consecutive years after recovering from the effects of the last global downtrend in 2010, putting the company on the global map with numerous industry awards and overseas consultancy services.

An advocate of technological innovation, Noormah is a regular speaker at conferences both in Malaysia and abroad on rail transport and specifically, air-rail related subjects.


Yeow Wei-Wen has over 30 years’ experience in the travel industry. He joined Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) as Vice President of Customer Service Management in April 2000, and was part of the launch team for the project to set up and run the customer service and ticketing operations. He is currently the Senior Vice President of Marketing Management, responsible for marketing planning, partnerships, commercial development and communication.

Prior to joining ERL, Wei-Wen worked for ten years in several regional marketing positions for an international airline in Singapore, Tokyo, Fukuoka and Surabaya.


Vijendran Veeraya joined ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd (E-MAS) in February 2002 as an Engineer overseeing the overall civil, station and railway facilities for the parent company, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL).

Vijendran was transferred to ERL in 2014 and promoted to his current position of Vice President in charge of Asset Services Management. With over 20 years of experience in railway systems maintenance and management, he is now responsible for the performance of ERL railway system’s operations and maintenance, its subsidiary and sub-contractors. He is also in charge of government and stakeholder relations.

Vijendran is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration.


Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Master of Business Administration from Wawasan Open University. 

Alex has over 18 years of experience in Automatic Fare Collection System, Payment Transformation Solutions, IT Project Management and ERP System. He joined Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) in December 2001 as an IT Executive and was responsible for IT technical support, database management and business reporting. In 2002, he was awarded the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCSE, MCDBA, MCSA).

Alex was appointed the Head of IT Department in 2007 and the company’s ISO Management Representative in 2010 for ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 9001:2015. He was subsequently promoted to his current position of Vice President of Information Services Management (ISM) in 2012. Between 2011 and 2014, he became the IT Group Head for both ERL and its subsidiary, responsible for streamlining overall IT processes and operations.

Prior to joining ERL, Alex started his career as an IT Service Provider for software development, IT technical support, IT consultant, IT training, document automation solutions and business intelligent reporting.


Aminuddin joined Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) in March 2002 as a Finance Executive responsible for the reconciliation of revenue collections.

Aminuddin moved to Customer Service Management in 2005 to focus on revenue collection reconciliation from ticket sales. Having taken on various roles within the department, he was appointed as the Vice President of Customer Service Management in 2017 to lead the overall frontline operations and ensure delivery of service excellence. He implemented various process improvement strategies including the migration from conventional cash handling to a fully automated cash management system. Aminuddin has also been the project manager for ERL’s staff secondment program to Al Mashaaer Al Muqaddasah Metro in Saudi Arabia since 2013.

Aminuddin graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from Universiti Utara Malaysia, and held various positions in the finance and audit fields prior to joining ERL.


W H Vijitha Ariyapala joined Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) in July 2021. As the Vice President of Sales & Business Management, he is responsible for the company’s sales and business development initiatives, retail operations, B2B partnerships and corporate sales.

Vijitha brings with him 15 years of corporate multinational experience to help strengthen ERL’s continuous commitment towards operational excellence, developing mutually beneficial relationships and achieving sustainable growth.


Suriani Farisa Md Isa has 27 years of experience in human resources. She holds a Bachelor of Business in Business Administration from RMIT, Melbourne.

She was one of the pioneering team members who joined ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd (E-MAS), an Operations and Maintenance subsidiary of Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) in November 2000. Prior to joining E-MAS, she worked in various industries including construction, airline and financial companies.

Suriani was appointed as the Group Head Human Resources in July 2020, and is now responsible for human resource activities for both ERL and E-MAS.


Mohammad Yusof Azami joined Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) in August 2020. He has more than fifteen years of experience in the field of accounting and finance in various industries.

Yusof began his career with Telekom Malaysia UK in 2008. Prior to joining ERL, he was the Group Finance Manager with a UK-based company specialised in modular design, manufacturing and construction.

Yusof holds a Diploma in Accountancy from University of Technology MARA (UiTM). He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
