What is EkspreSmiles?

EkspreSmiles is a oyalty program owned by Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd that that allows you to earn points for everything you do on the KLIA Ekspres app and website, from creating an account to other services such as buying tickets, packages, gift vouchers and more. Members can redeem the points earned in the program to get discounts on KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit products and services stated on the app and website.

Earning Points
Every member is entitled to earn points for every RM1 spent on any tickets purchased through www.KLIAekspres.com or the KLIA Ekspres app. EkspreSmiles Points can be earned as below:

  2. Single Adult ticket with XYZ e-Wallet 15% Promo RM46.75 x 5 points = 234 points (rounded up)
  3. One Single Adult and one Single Child tickets with XYZ e-Wallet 15% Promo RM46.75 + RM21.25 = RM68 x 5 points = 340 points (only total rounded up, not individual fares)
Yes, unless otherwise stated for selected promotions. The amount of EkspreSmiles Points you earn will be calculated based on the final purchase fares, minus all discounts.
You will earn points when you use the Gift Voucher, and not when you purchase it. Points will be awarded based on ticket type purchased using the Gift Voucher. For example, if you use a RM50 Gift Voucher to purchase (including any top-up amount):
  1. One Standard Return Adult ticket (RM90), you will earn 900 points (RM90 x 10 points); or
  2. One KL TravelPass Single ticket (RM120), you will earn 600 points (RM120 x 5 points).
You will receive your EkspreSmiles Points after your payment is completed and ticket booking is confirmed.
You may check your EkspreSmiles Points balance on your profile page.
Points Redemption
You may redeem your EkspreSmiles Points to get discounts on your total fare amount. Kindly refer to the steps below:
  1. During checkout, go to Apply Discount
  2. Select EkspreSmiles Points
  3. Check your points balance and select the amount of points entitled for redemption
  4. Click Proceed
  5. Complete the rest of the payment in Checkout Page

All products are redeemable by points except for some promotional products. If you are not able to redeem your points on the product you have selected during Checkout, it means that product is not entitled for points redemption.

Yes, the minimum amount for redemption is RM5 for 1,500 EkspreSmiles Points and redemption can only be made in denominations of RM5/1,500 EkspreSmiles Points. There is no maximum limit to redeem the points.
If you have accumulated enough points, you may use your points to make full payment during checkout.
You may redeem your points when you have accumulated enough points to meet the minimum redemption requirement any time before the expiry date.
Yes, you may redeem your EkspreSmiles Points on discounted tickets to get further savings on your total purchase fares, unless otherwise stated for selected promotions.
EkspreSmiles Points cannot be redeemed for purchase of Gift Voucher.
EkspreSmiles Points cannot be exchanged for cash.
EkspreSmiles Points cannot be transferred to another account.
Validity
Yes. EkspreSmiles Points expire every two 31 Decembers. For example, points earned in October 2020 will expire on 31 December 2021, while points earned in February 2021 will expire on 31 December 2022.
Your expired EkspreSmiles Points will be automatically removed from your points balance from 1st January, after the second 31st December. Any unexpired points will remain and be reflected in your points balance.
Account
You may update your personal details on the Account page.
You can change your email address on the Account page. Kindly take note that all changes made on the Account page will be updated automatically. Your tickets and receipts will be sent to the new email address.
To change password, go to your Account page and click on ‘Change Password’. The system will prompt you to enter your old password as well as the new one. A confirmation will be given if your new password is changed successfully.
Go to login page and click ‘Forgot Password’; you must input your registered email address to reset your password. If the email address you gave us is no longer in use, please contact Customer Service at +603 2267 8000 (Monday to Friday 08:30-18:00 hrs local time) or email CustomerEnquiry@KLIAekspres.com for assistance.
EkspreSmiles Points cannot be transferred to another account.

General Membership

  1. Membership is open to all individuals aged 18 years and above. To become a member ("Member") of the Express Rail Link (“ERL”) EkspreSmiles Loyalty Program (the “Program”), individuals must enroll by creating a Member’s account on www.KLIAekspres.com or the KLIA Ekspres app.
  2. To complete an enrollment, individuals must provide their full name, date of birth, country of residence and email address (“Registration Data”). Members must provide a valid, unique email address upon enrollment. Only one Program account may be associated with a single email address
  3. By enrolling in this Program, Members agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of the Program.
  4. Members agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete Registration Data as prompted by the Program, and maintain and promptly update the Registration Data (found in the "My Account" section of the Site) to keep it true, accurate, current and complete.
  5. If a Member provides any Registration Data that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or if ERL, in its discretion, suspects that a Member’s Registration Data is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, ERL has the right to suspend, terminate, or refuse the Member’s current or future use of the Program.
  6. Members agree not to reveal personal information, username and password to others.
  7. Any direct or indirect expense incurred shall be borne by the Member. ERL is not responsible for any such expenses.

Earning EkspreSmiles Points

  1. Members are entitled to EkspreSmiles points for every RM1 spent on any tickets purchased through www.KLIAekspres.com or the KLIA Ekspres app. EkspreSmiles Points can be earned as below:
    1. New member sign up (enrollment) = 300 points
    2. Purchase of KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit tickets:

  2. From time to time, ERL may offer bonus points for enrollment. Only new Members are eligible, and only one enrollment bonus will be allowed per Member.
  3. Points will not be awarded for travel on ERL’s complimentary tickets issued or on tickets purchased from other platforms other than www.KLIAekspres.com or the KLIA Ekspres app.
  4. To receive EkspreSmiles Points, the Member must be logged in to his/her account before making the purchase. Points will be credited to a Member's account upon successful payment and confirmed booking.
  5. The amount of EkspreSmiles Points awarded to Member’s account will be calculated based on the final purchase fares, minus all discounts.
  6. If the Member is not logged in at the time of making the purchase, the EkspreSmiles Points will not be credited to the Member’s account.

Redeeming EkspreSmiles Points

  1. Members may redeem points at www.KLIAekspres.com or on the KLIA Ekspres app during checkout by following the steps below:
    1. During checkout, go to Apply Discount
    2. Select EkspreSmiles Points
    3. Check points balance and select amount of points entitled for redemption
    4. Click Proceed
    5. Complete the rest of the payment in Checkout Page
  2. The conversion rate for redemption is 1,500 points for RM5. The minimum redemption amount is in a block of 1,500 points or in denominations of RM5.
  3. Points can be used as a partial or full payment of the total fares stated in the Checkout Page.
  4. All products are redeemable by points except for some promotional products. If a product selected is not redeemable during Checkout, it means the product is not entitled for points redemption.
  5. Points can be used for discounted fares unless mentioned otherwise.
  6. Points are not redeemable for purchase of a Gift Voucher.
  7. Points cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account.
  8. The corresponding points will be deducted from Member’s account for refunded tickets.

Validity and Expiry

  1. EkspreSmiles Points expire every two 31 Decembers. For example, points earned in October 2020 will expire on 31 December 2021, while points earned in February 2021 will expire on 31 December 2022.
  2. Members can redeem their points any time before expiry. Once expired, the unused points will reset back to 0 in the new calendar year.

Additional Terms and Conditions

  1. To resolve point discrepancies, Members must contact ERL’s Customer Service in writing within 60 days following the transaction in question by email or using the Contact Us form. Members must provide ERL with sufficient written documentation of the transactions in question. Written requests must also include the Member's personal details, receipt and screenshot(s) of the relevant pages showing the points in dispute.
  2. ERL reserves the right to cancel/amend the Terms and Conditions of the Program at any time without prior notice to Members, including but not limited to:
    1. The activities that are eligible to receive EkspreSmiles Points, such as enrollment, survey completion, purchase of tickets and other products and services, and bonus periods;
    2. The ticket types eligible to receive points;
    3. The number of points awarded;
    4. The conversion rate for redemption; and
    5. The validity and expiry terms of the points.
  3. ERL reserves the right to withhold any benefits under the Program rendered, with or without notice to the Member if the Member is found to have breached the Terms and Conditions of the Program.
  4. ERL is the sole provider of all train services and/or goods, and ticket fares under this promotion. The ticketing is subject to all applicable laws and regulations, and also to the terms and conditions specified in ERL’s Conditions of Carriage. A copy of ERL’s Conditions of Carriage is available at its ticket counters and on its website www.KLIAekspres.com. By participating in this Program, Members agree to abide by ERL’s prevailing ticket fares, Conditions of Carriage and the Terms and Conditions of the Program.
  5. In the case of a dispute regarding points or the Program, ERL's decision will be final.
  6. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia and the courts of Malaysia shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in relation to this Program or these terms and conditions.
